Overview

The Zenchef integration enables your voice agents to check restaurant availability in real-time during calls. Perfect for restaurants using Zenchef as their reservation management system.
This is an MVP integration focused on availability checking. Reservation creation will be available in a future update.

What You Can Do

Setup

Find Your Restaurant ID

Locate your Zenchef restaurant ID in the booking widget URL on your website:

Add Integration

Go to Integrations → Click Add Zenchef → Enter your restaurant ID and name

Test Connection

Click Test to verify your restaurant is found

Enable in Workflow

In Workflow Editor → Tools → Enable Zenchef Availability

Your agent has access to two functions:

Example Conversation

Caller: Do you have availability for Saturday evening?Agent: Let me check… Yes, we have tables available on Saturday for dinner. How many guests will you be?Caller: We’ll be 6 people.Agent: Perfect, we can accommodate 6 guests for dinner on Saturday. We have availability for both the 7pm and 9pm services.Caller: What about Friday instead?Agent: Let me check Friday… Unfortunately, Friday dinner is fully booked. I can offer you Thursday or Saturday evening instead. Would either of those work?

Limitations

Current MVP limitations:
  • Availability checking only (no reservation creation)
  • Uses Zenchef’s public API (unofficial)
  • Cannot see existing reservations

Troubleshooting

  • Double-check your restaurant ID from the widget URL
  • Ensure your restaurant is active on Zenchef
  • The ID should be numeric (e.g., 361425)
  • Verify the restaurant has availability configured in Zenchef
  • Check if you’re searching for a date when the restaurant is closed
  • Try searching for dates further in advance
  • This can happen during high traffic periods
  • The agent will inform the caller and suggest trying again
  • Check your internet connection
